Position Summary:

SiriusXM is seeking a strategic leader with significant experience promoting brands through social media to develop an overall social content approach, collaborate with programming and marketing teams on social initiatives, and manage a team of social media producers. The Director, Audience Engagement will report to the Senior Director, Digital Content & Audience. This individual must have a proven track record of growing audiences and engagement, and leading a social media team focused on creating compelling content and delivering on target KPIs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the success of SiriusXM's social media footprint by measuring the effectiveness of the audience engagement team's efforts across 100+ accounts on multiple social networks.

  • Develop meaningful presences for SiriusXM across existing and emerging social platforms, from main brand accounts to the channel and show level.

  • Set and meet the department's key KPIs, including driving SiriusXM app installs and SiriusXM streaming consumption, and hitting engagement targets on various platforms.

  • Work closely with teams across the organization, including programming, content marketing, and public relations, to ensure consistency, cohesive strategy, and best-in-class social and multimedia content.

  • Collaborate with programming partners and talent to create social content and to connect their audiences with the SiriusXM brand and content.

  • Develop and execute organic social marketing strategies for key SiriusXM properties and priority events and launches.

  • Oversee and ensure appropriate and economical use of social media budget.

  • Work closely with the analytics team to interpret and analyze all available data to make strategic and tactical recommendations.

  • Recruit and retain high-quality team members as required.

  • Provide industry insights, including trends in social content and changes/priorities at the social networks themselves.

  • Forge deeper partnerships with established and emerging social platforms.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee team currently comprised of 4 staff members responsible for social media, video, and multimedia.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant social content creation and/or marketing experience.

  • 3+ years of experience effectively leading and influencing people or major projects.

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the social media and multimedia landscape, including latest techniques for growing audience and engagement, specifically around the cost-effective creation and distribution of social video.

  • Experience and relationships with social networks and agencies, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat.

  • Strong relationship-building, interpersonal and communication skills both internal to the organization and with external partners.

  • Strong analytical skills to carry out a metrics-driven approach to content creation.

  • Ability to respond and adapt to internal priorities effectively.

  • Substantial content experience, especially with bridging gap for traditional content providers to social and digital space.

  • Innovative thinking with passion for staying on top of evolving trends and technologies, and advocating for their short- or long-term relevance to the business.

  • Proven track record of implementing operational excellence (process efficiencies, effective goal-setting and follow-up).

  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally, successfully influencing others and implementing new strategies and tactics (experience working with content, digital, and/or marketing a plus).

  • Strong and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

  • Experience managing external vendors/partners (email, content providers, etc.).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • High attention to detail and strong organization skills.

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

  • Advanced knowledge of social media software; survey/statistical analysis software preferred.

  • Experience with video production.
