Senior Director, Consumer Insights and Research

The Senior Director of Consumer Insights and Research will develop and execute the research project roadmap and deliver the studies on time and on budget. This individual is responsible for the management and delivery of market research studies, ongoing monitoring assignments, media analysis (both traditional and social). The individual is also responsible for other secondary research from proposal writing through final study deliverables and the day-to-day client management that the project requires. The individual must have strong research and technical expertise, project management skills and demonstrate aptitude for strategic thinking and problem solving.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead research and insights strategic roadmap development and implementation.
Manage end-to-end research design, execution, analysis and presentation of recommendations for studies that address ad effectiveness, programming, marketing, and key strategic objectives.
Develop research proposals - understand business unit's objectives, scope projects, develop appropriate methodologies to meet objectives, and pricing.
Lead the development of research design and testing methodology, devising questionnaires and / or moderator guides, programming studies, tab and banner plans.
Analyze research data and insights that meet project objectives. Present clear, concise research findings to business unit partners.
Select and manage secondary research vendors that perform key strategic research studies.
Test methodologies, attitude and usage studies, recruitment, and integration of 3 rd -party data.
- No direct reports to start but individual will be responsible for managing agencies and vendors as needed. Internal team resources may expand as business grows.
Bachelor's degree (psychology or statistics related field are preferred) or equivalent, relevant experience. Master's degree preferred.
Requires 7+ years of experience at a market research firm / agency, research vendor, or managing consumer insights in-house; 10+ to be considered for Senior Director.
Experience in applying statistical design and significance testing.
Experience in leveraging advanced analytics in developing insights and recommendations preferred.
Strong proficiency in segmentation, brand positioning, messaging, brand tracking, creative concept and advertising.
Requirements and General Skills:
Strong qualitative and quantitative research methodology experience.
Experience distilling complex data into simple concepts, designing and operationalizing research projects to gain business insights, managing third party research agencies and conducting data analysis.
Experience using various statistical techniques such as clustering and regression analyses to improve customer segmentation practices.
Distinctive analytical skills, creativity, a strategic mindset and keen business acumen.

Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Strong proficiency in statistics analysis software (e.g., SPSS).
Knowledge of other research tools is a plus (e.g., Qualtrics).
