Director, Cloud Engineering and Dev Ops - Automatic Labs

We're looking for a Cloud Engineering and DevOps Director who will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform. You'll lead and grow a team of software and system engineers to design and monitor our platform and applications, from ingesting data from the edge all the way to managing our data science infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Own your organization design and hiring plan that will best tackle our current and future opportunities.
Mentor and devleop your team into better leaders and engineers.
Enable your organization to scale by setting direction and goals then empowering your team to make decisions.
Influence company-wide technology decisions as a member of our engineering leadership team.
Provide "always on" service delivery.
Work with our Program Management, Finance and Product Development organizations for capacity forecasting and production budget management.
Lead and develop distributed team of Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, Dev Ops Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers.
Ensure that we build and maintain the automation tools and processes required to reliably and efficiently manage and secure our fleet.
Work with other parties within Engineering to accelerate SRE adoption of Agile and DevOps methodologies and help the SRE teams fully leverage the source control, CI, quality engineering and release management resources available to them.
Continue to evolve our service architecture of microservices and containers to take advantage of new cloud infrastructure services and modern scalability concepts (i.e. pets vs cattle).
Participate in 24x7 site reliability rotations and escalation workflows.
- This role will manage 3 Dev Ops Engineers.
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent, relevant experience.
7+ years of experience managing and growing Site Reliability or DevOps engineering teams.
Experience with managing microservices and cloud native applications.
Experience with technical deep-dives into system performance bottlenecks.
Requirements and General Skills:
Ability to understand and prioritize disparate requirements and needs from multiple stakeholders.
Maintaining a culture of engineering excellence.
Coaching and mentoring engineers in developing their skills.
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
