Audio Editor, POTUS Newsroom - Part-Time

Type of Position
Location: Washington, D.C.
Audio Editor to coordinate feeds, editing of news sound and operation of equipment. Work may include evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Edit live interviews, identify and pull relevant soundbites from POTUS host's interviews with newsmakers.
Edit live news audio, identify and pull relevant highlights from daily White House Press Briefings and news conferences from Capitol Hill.
Record and edit live press briefings, presidential speeches, news conferences, hearings, and teleconferences.
Edit shows and longform audio for replay.
Be the liaison between the newsroom and in-studio producers.
Perform other duties as assigned including opening/closing responsibilities and troubleshooting and rectification of issues in Newsroom.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
1 year experience with sound editing and sports newsroom operation in a fast-paced news gathering atmosphere.
Requirements and General Skills:

Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
Good public speaking and presentation skills.
Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Experience with digital editing.
Experience with Dalet, Cool Edit and Adobe Audition a plus.
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
