Location: Washington, D.C.
This position resides within the corporate finance organization, and is responsible for planning and analysis around Sirius XM's $4 billion subscriber revenue, cash receipts, and related metrics. This position will work closely with a number of business functions to ensure that corporate objectives and external guidance around revenue and cash receipts are met. This is a highly visible position critical to forecasting top line growth and evaluating the company's pricing structure. Candidates must be self-starters and have excellent quantitative and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation of monthly variance analysis comparing actual results to budgets and forecast. Succinctly explain changes in trending of key metrics (revenue, ARPU, cash receipts) for inclusion in external, public statements.
Assume ownership of detailed excel models to forecast revenues and cash receipts for certain areas of the business as well as bad debt.
Track various key metrics and maintain historically reported actuals. The excel model requires a high-degree of scalability and sophistication to create accurate projections.
The successful candidate will "own" the model, and be responsible for all output generated by it. Continuously review for opportunities to streamline and improve forecasting methodologies.
Complete quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long range scenarios in a timely and accurate manner.
Succinctly verbalize outputs of the forecast model, including understanding all changes in trends.
Explain variances within versions and impact of changing business trends on the projections.
Ensure actual results at month end are accurately uploaded into the model.
Review forecasted trends and make recommendations based on current business activity.
Update daily cash results, and prepare rolling forecasts of subscriber cash receipts.
Work closely with subscriber reporting team to understand renewal opportunities and its impacts on cash receipts.
Provide short-term forecasts to treasury based on knowledge of changes in trends.
Develop creative and efficient methodologies for modeling various pricing scenarios. Recommend new initiatives to senior management based on revenue and cash impacts to the company.
Provide ad hoc support for regulatory inquiries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or equivalent, relevant experience. MBA preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a financial planning & analysis position, preferably at a subscription based company. Minimum of 3 years in a function requiring complex excel modeling.
Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of revenue recognition principles is preferable.
In depth knowledge of Excel required and working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase preferred.

Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Superior knowledge of MS Excel.
Experience with Hyperion Essbase preferred.
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
